Kiwi, the flightless bird of the night.
The iconic Brown Kiwi is endemic to New Zealand. They’re found across the North Island and nearby Barrier Island.
Kiwi are flightless birds, belonging to an ancient group of birds that can’t fly, including the Australian Cassowary, Emu and the extinct NZ Moa.
Brown Kiwi are the most common Kiwi, but they’re declining rapidly in the wild. They’re considered ‘At Risk’ and experts say they could be extinct within two generations.
This Kiwi image features a deep ink background with green, silver fern leaves from the Ponga tree and Manuka.
